How to Parking?
Food is average but price is ok.
Good food cheap price excellent service
Good Chinese food. A nice assortment of dishes to mix things up from the usual Chinese dishes. Underground parking but no elevator, just a steep set of stairs so don't make your elderly parents walk. Just drop them off at the front door. 5 stars because I didn't pay.
MoreThe food is pretty good and priced reasonably. It's in the same building as Best Western Plus that probably use the restaurant to serve daily continental breakfast. Their SHANGHAI-STYLE SOUP DUMPLINGS—xiao long bao is very nice! If I have one recommendation for them is for the staff to not look grumpy constantly...smiling once awhile can make the atmosphere way nicer!
MoreBeen coming here a few times. Food quality is great and consistent. Reasonably priced. Will return for more. The pan fried buns 生煎包 is a must order.
MorePortion was good and most dishes were satisfactory. However the service was really bad. I guess the way how servers communicate was just very direct. When asking for recommendations the server replied “whatever u like just order” I guess he was right, it really depends what I like. However I would really appreciate server spend some time to understand his customer. Other than that food was good, my families like it. Tables are really close to each others and the layout is weird. Don’t bring guests over Cus there is no ambiance, no plating as well.
MoreTraditional Chinese food at a reasonable price.
Great food at good price and friendly service.
Authentic Shanghai food. If you take your Shanghai parents/grandparents here, they will approve. They have Shanghai dishes you would otherwise not be able to order at other nearby places. Obviously I would prefer slightly bigger portions but I have to say their prices are fair given the market. They also take credit cards as well (what?! In an Asian restaurant?! :D). They are in the same area as the Best Western plus Hotel and have underground parking spots (a bit dingy looking parking lot).
MoreWe love this restaurant and come here every month for its Shanghainese dim sums. The food is amazing but the restaurant can be a little crowded. Make sure to order 生煎包!
MoreFood is always good. -Says the Shanghainese girl
Some of the best and authentic Shanghai food. Other places are good but this place has the Shanghai taste buds "sweeter" taste.
MoreAuthentic Shanghaiese food. Great food, great service, AMAZING value price wise. Definitely a hidden gem in the local Chinese community
MorePretty good. The Shanghai style soup dumplings we're fresh and plenty of soup. The pan fried dumplings we're not bad but needed a sauce to give it additional kick. Everything else was decent.
MoreDon't get the shumai, it's just filled with sticky rice. The other dishes were pretty good although a few, like the xlb, were more sweet than I like. I think that is just the style they are going for.
MorePrice is good. To be honest food was just okay. Not as good as what the menu pictures demonstrated. If you like to try Shanghai styled dim sum, it's the place to go in Burnaby. They are usually busy, funny though there's hardly any smile on servers' faces. Maybe that's the normal cool expression what Chinese people usually have.
MoreOne of the BEST shanghai juicy dumplings in metro Vancouver. The flavour is not muddled. A very clean tasting soup comes out of the dumplings making you crave for more. Other mini dishes have their own taste not everything tasted the same like other shanghai restaurants. A diffinate must try. Place is busy service might suck and you might have to share a table. But you are coming here for the dumplings.
MoreDelicious meal. XLB full of soup unlike the first time I came here. She smoked duck was yummy I ate so many pieces. The fried fish was a nice a sort of sweet and sour. I wish the fish was a bit more tender tho! The prawns were deliciously juicy!
MoreMy favorite Shanghai dim sum in the area. Beats Dinesty, price is better too.
One of the better pan fried soup dumpling places in Burnaby. Delicious soupy xiao long baos also. Service has improved over the years. Has good parking underground.
MoreThe best soup dumping in town, yummy , reasonable price, services good
Expect a dinning room full of mostly Chinese families talking very loudly and then mix with noises from kids playing and babies crying, it is just a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner..... not. When I visited the restaurant it was at full capacity and yet they managed to dish out all 5 dishes I ordered in under 5 mins. That was very impressive. Food were good tasting and portions are good for 4-5 people. There is very limited service as there are just not enough servers around. However once you get the attention from one of them you get what you needed quickly.
MoreOne of the best priced Shanghai cuisine in greater Vancouver. Hit and misses with the quality of the food. The smoked duck was very well done but the Soup Noodles were over cooked. Service is typical for a Chinese restaurant, so don't expect too much.
MoreGreat Shanghainese food. Prices have gone up since the last time I came, but I guess that's understandable due to COVID. Service today was not great as there were only two people working. Would've given 3 stars but gave it 4 due to the multiple other times I've come here.
MoreFood is very good and the service is very fast. Orders went very quickly and the overall experience was excellent. As long as you know what you want to eat, you will have a great time. Ordering the best food may be a lot harder for people who are not familiar with Shanghai food, as the translations do not quite do the food justice.
MoreGreat food. Tough to find parking upper levels, try underground. Ambience is meh. Crowd get very noisy.
MoreVery interesting location, it is inside a hotel. Be careful not to park in the hotel parking spots. The service isn't too bad but food comes out pretty quickly. The juicy pork dumplings are pretty amazing and its a bonus when there are no green onions in them. The pork hock was a bit dry but the flavors were there. Overall its a pretty good place to eat with big groups.
MoreGood north China style dim sum. Decor a bit dated. Services ok
It is a Shanghainese stylish Chinese restaurant. They kept around 90% of original Shanghai food. What I guess is they might try their best in Vancouver. The price is fair compared to the others in Richmond. You should visit at least once to try their best food instead of going to Shanghai.
MoreThe table was not properly cleaned with grease on my side, about 4 inches wide along side, I had to ask the server to clean the table. My 2 hands were full of grease and had to washed it off. Plus our table was one foot away from another table. It was an upsetting experience. I called ahead to make sure a table was available. But getting a small table in the back near the washroom area was not ideal, reason for me not leaving was because my other companions were hungry. I guessed their small tables designed to accommodate as many customers to make more money. But the table was too small, when the dishes came, the server asked us to combine dosages together or stacked them up. Would I go back? Unlikely.
MoreDecent Shanghai restaurant but their dishes are somewhat on the small side. Price is reasonable for the portion size.
MoreGood food. But there is a time when the restaurant staff take their lunch break and all the guests would be asked to leave.... an unsual practice that I seldom encounter. It's understandable and doesn't prevent me to revisit in the future.
MoreServing delicious Shanghainese food, price reasonable, plenty of parking spots, place is clean and tidy. Only comment is insufficient waitress.
MoreAwesome authentic Chinese food. Not sure if servers all speak English. Not typical western hospitality. Very similar to restaurants in Mainland China.
MoreVery good Shanghai food, and ok price.
Typical Chinese restaurant atmosphere with minimal service but AMAZING food. Make sure you call to reserve large tables!
MoreEverytime I visit is full of people many of them is large group of people. Prepare yourself for waiting specially if you not call in for reservation. The food is good and price is above average. Parking is better than most of the Chinese restaurant they have underground parking and some parking spot in the lot. Try the steam dumplings and the duck.
MoreI heard about this joint before but never ventured in. It was a family get together with cousins and aunts visiting from Holland. We reserved two large tables and ordered to our hearts content. I must say that their Shanghai dumplings, fried sweet and sour fish, Peking duck, chicken and the dishes we ordered were fantastic. We ordered and promptly food started showing up almost immediately. I was very impressed on how efficient the service was. Nothing outstanding but good for a chinese restaurant. One thing I noticed was the noise level was way too high. I'm glad we left our nephew at home. I will give Jin Jiang Shanghai restaurant another try with a smaller group.
Morefood is great, kitchen is fast with our order: the first dish arrived within 5 mins. but service is not great: don't expect highly attentive service (the servers are visibly overtaxed and working hard) but once you get their attention, the order/request goes through. some really tasty flavours and appetizing dishes. decent value for money spent.
MoreLots of seafood. Particularly liked the soup and shrimp dish
good tasting food but super rude staff! the staff are inattentive. it took them ages to bring me an iced water. the lady with short hair that was wearing a blueish/white blouse is terrible. she left our table when we haven’t even finished placing our order. she always seems like she is rushing to leave. as well, she brought our bill over when we weren’t even finished with the food.
MoreTasty food! It came in less than 5 minutes after ordering, Even though the restaurant was fairly packed. Friendly service.
MoreHad a selection from their lunch menu. The spicy beef noodle in soup was terrific but everything else was mostly underwhelming.
MoreBeef noodle soup and dumplings are some of the best in Burnaby. Everyone I have ever taken to was amazed at the price point and has gone back numerous times. I'm here for the food, Service and Decor is all secondary. Some of you that complain about the service must not make it to many chinese restaurants in the LMD.
MoreDelicious food and good services. Pay attention not to parking at reserved spots for hotel guests. In addition to surface parking (in front of restaurant), underground parking available for restaurant. Make reservation beforehand to avoid disappointing.
MoreFood is delicious and service was good despite it being super busy,I have no complaints. I recommend this place to friends and family all the time
MoreBest authentic Shanghainese restaurant in Vancouver! Love everything on the menu! Pricing is reasonable!
MoreThe food quality was alright, slightly on the pricey side, but not too bad. We had 8 small dishes shared among 5 people, and it came to $12 per person. The cubed ham was interesting, and reminded one of us of head cheese. There is parking underneath, which was handy as there is no parking on Kingsway during a large chunk of the day.
MoreFood is exceptional, I love their Xiaolong bao, very juicy. Servers with great smile which I find rare in chinese restaurant. Fast and efficient, loving it. Definitely going back again.
MoreVery good shanghainese dim sum. They have a variety of dishes that aren't offered anywhere else in Vancouver. Seating is well spaced out to accommodate social distancing
